40% what the hell hopefully it will be 48% like 2006

Hoery cwap!!! Glad I didn’t take it in 2004…Jesus…they must’ve been asking for the square root of life or some other such nonsense.

I am liking 1964 pass rates, 94% , sucks to be the 6% that failed

Thanks for the pdf soxboys but I distinctly remember seeing a number in the 30s (~36-37%) on the pre-screen before I got my results. When I saw that number I knew I was dead. Ouch! It was the second lowest passing rate in CFA history. I guess they revised the figure and changed it to 40%. I really underestimated level II after passing level I on my first try. One of the reasons why was the supposedly higher passing % on Level II vs. Level I. Don’t be fooled by those #s. This level is a pain in the…

It looks like those people who got on the wrong side of the 32% in 2004 got pissed off, took L2 again in 2005, then crushed the L3 passing rate with a 76% pass rate in 2006.

94% in 1964… and that was all level 3… those guys must have studied like 700 hours to knock level 3 out in one try, with no previous exam experience

Makes me wish I took it last year. I got a feeling this year’s # will be low. Hope I’m wrong!

“94% in 1964… and that was all level 3… those guys must have studied like 700 hours to knock level 3 out in one try, with no previous exam experience” Lol…or they showed up with calculators, calculated a t-statistic, answered some softball ethics questions, and were then handed their charters on the spot. I’m thinking that I’m closer to reality with my scenario than you are.

in 1964, difficulty level was similar to series 7 exam. All they asked us them to do GGM for 120 questions. No derivatives, FI, time series etc invented at that time. It was just equities and economics

I have a good feeling 2009 passrates will be similar to 1964, so dont worry guys.

There were no ethics back in the “good ol days”. I’m sure the exam back then was 120 questions consisting of the following: Ethics - what ethics? Investment professionals are all ethical and thus we don’t need an ethics section (translated into modern thinking = ethics 12/12) Quant - calculate the payout ratio to the closest decimal point Economics - they show a spot rate in USD/CAD and ask a true/false “if the American dollar depreciates, does the Canadian dollar appreciate?” Corp Gov - Given an EPS of $4 and a dividend of $2, what is the amount that goes into retained earnings FSA - If cash increases by $500, what happens to the Balance sheet? Equity - calculate the GGM assuming your own assumptions. Please just pick an answer, it could be anything and you will get it right as long as you take your pen and circle something. FI - Mortgage backed securities are mortgages based on the underlying of Derivatives - We would like to give you 6 free marks for taking the time to sit on this wonderful summer of 1964. Please circle “A) yes” if you like to have the free bonus marks or “B) No” if you don’t Port. management - 6 more free bonus marks for finishing the exam

You realise that this is a capital offence punnishable by death under standard VII? deep2002 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > skillionaire Wrote: > -------------------------------------------------- > ----- > > “94% in 1964… and that was all level 3… those > > guys must have studied like 700 hours to knock > > level 3 out in one try, with no previous exam > > experience” > > > > Lol…or they showed up with calculators, > > calculated a t-statistic, answered some > softball > > ethics questions, and were then handed their > > charters on the spot. > > > > I’m thinking that I’m closer to reality with my > > scenario than you are. > > There were no ethics back in the “good ol days”. > I’m sure the exam back then was 120 questions > consisting of the following: > > Ethics - what ethics? but why level 2 passing % are better than level 1 and same goes for level 3 as compare to level 2
