How’s everyone feeling? I definitely feel behind and I need to firm up all concepts. I started ramping up my studying time from last week. Hopefully I’ll clock 6 hours tomorrow.
Almost done with EOC qs and doing a 3 day bootcamp next weekend. Have 3 2x3 laminates on my walls with main equations and topics that I review once a night while trying to fall asleep.
not feeling confident!
I’m finishing up the curriculum today. The next 50 days are crucial. I’ll be eating, drinking, sleeping, breathing level 2 material until the exam day. I had a little motivation issue earlier in the week, but I’ve been set straight. Confident - not so much. Motivated - Most definitely. Let’s do this!
feeling like a loser!! I still have derivatives, Quant and PM to go. And not at all sure how much I’ve retained so far.
Busy with my second pass and going through EOCs and retention for me is a definite problem. Am I the only one struggling to remember all of this stuff?
Topher, have you taken any of the 2010 CFA sample exams?
I have really worked hard at this,I still find out I am getting caught out on a few EOC questions here and there, but then again, surprise myself when a formula correctly pops into my head or I suddenly remember the difference between econ profit and income, for example. Finally feel like it is all coming together now, hope I can keep the momentum up for the next 50 days. At 30days I am sure I will kick as the prospect of not having to go through L2 gain is a strong driving force.
I have to take the CFA samples and mocks Memorize Schweser Book 6 and 7 (I’ve already gone over all those questions a couple times) Keep studying HARD EOC questions
Am gonna be left with last two books on 20th. Will be done with first prep in first week of may. Going to be challenging to revise and complete EOCs at same time. What’s the average time you guys take in completing EOCs?
what is EOC,excuse me?
End of chapter questions (from cfa text)

Last year I got I think mid 70’s and possibly one high 60 for the 3 CFAI samples. I got 76 and 78 for the CFAI mock. I also got 75-85 on all Schweser Volume 1 Practice Exams. I did all 4000 qbank and did most of the CFAI EOC questions. I made over 100 pages of notes and put in probably over 500 hours of studying. I failed Band 8. In my opinion, there’s a large luck factor to the exam.
Topher, surprised to hear you failed Band 8 given your scores on the mocks - which are pretty much the scores I plan to be shooting for before I go in. How would you say your CFAI Mock exam compared to the real thing? Were the vignette topics not what you were expecting? Just trying to get a feel for what to expect for the actual exam.
Feeling very far behind…still have to finish up FI, and then on to Derivatives, Alt Inv, and PM. Three weeks for pure review and 2 weeks off of work…sprint to the finish.
I feel OK, maybe. I’m on track, and I understand what I’m reading, and I’ve gone over everything a few times, but is it even possible to be confident with this stuff?
