Back in 2011 or so I was fail band 10 for level 3. A combination of personal events and laziness led to me not finishing up level 3 in the years since then.
I normally started studying Jan 1. Has anyone ever tried starting this late in the game and actually passed?
Are you going to be able to have vacations in may and if yes, how many weeks ?
Most people I know who passed level III usually sprint it in like 4-6 weeks full time prior to the exam using Schweser (where I live people can take many weeks of vacations and/or have time-off from work to study for the exams).
If you are only going to have a couple of weeks off to study before the xam it is still doable IMO, but really alot of work, as in you won’t have a life starting now until the exam.
I’ll be in London for a week in April with the wife, but I plan on bringing whatever Schweser book I’m on with me. So it won’t be a total loss if I get a little reading in now and then. Luckily we are wide open aside from that, and I’ll probably take 1.5-2 weeks off before the exam.
I’m perfectly prepared to do 2-3 hours per weeknight and 5+ hours each weekend day.
Are Schweser notes still preferable to the CFA material?
^Friendly warning, but from here on out its “balls-to-the-wall”.
Also, IMO the 2011 AM session was probably the easiest in the last 6 years or so (…albeit, from what I’m told, 2011 PM session was a real killer). My point being, the exam hasn’t gotten any easier since you last sat for it.
You can do it if you skip your London trip. That’ll throw you off completely. I started L2 in mid-march and passed…but had no life. I started L3 in Feb…and had a little bit of a life. I took the week before each exam off to study…but not a month, dafuq? How do you pull that off?
