An Arab sheik was admitted to the hospital for open heart surgery, but prior to the surgery, the doctors needed to store several pints of his blood type in case the need arose. As the gentleman had a rare AB- blood type, it couldn’t be found locally, so the call went out to numerous hospitals and citizens, even in other countries. Finally a Scotsman was located who had the same blood type. The Scot willingly donated his blood for the sheik. After the surgery, the sheik sent the Scotsman a new BMW, several brilliantly-cut top grade diamonds and 10,000 US dollars as appreciation for giving his blood. A couple of months later, the sheik again had to go through surgery. His doctor telephoned the same Scotsman who was more than happy to donate his blood again. After the second surgery, the sheik sent the Scotsman a thank-you card and a jar of assorted candies. The Scotsman was shocked that this time the sheik did not reciprocate his kind gesture as he had anticipated. He phoned the sheik and said to him: “I thought you would be very generous again, that you would give me another nice car, gemstones, and cash money, but you merely sent a thank-you card and a jar of candy.” To this the sheik replied: “Aye: now I have Scottish blood in me veins.”
Reading this I am reminded of what they say about the Marwadis (a business community in India). “They can buy from a Jew and sell to a Scot and still make a profit”
I figure that there has to be a company that offers a vacation package in Scotland in which you ride cross country on horseback from distillery to distillery.
