A suggesstion

Can we please have links to all the seven forums (4 CFA and 3 CAIA) on all pages of this website including the home page. Don’t know about everyone else, but it has become really cumbersome to navigate after the addition of CAIA and FRM forums. I mean clicking CFA >> Forums >> Level 2 takes three clicks which is really irritating. What do you all think?

agreed

Human beings are by nature resistance to change - I like the new format - I know what I want and where to get it. It’s nicer to think how you can help keep AF free(in that case you will be able to post more relevant stuff), as opposed to whining about a service you do not pay for, which at the minimum is maintained pretty well.

you don’t have to click CFA, it takes you to the CFA forums by default from http://www.analystforum.com/phorums/ (right underneath the banner ad) CAIA have to do extra clicking

Joe, What is the point you are trying to drive? If you feel that I am trying resist change, then you will be surprised to know that it was me who had made the suggestion of having the FRM forum here. Also, the topic says “A suggestion” and not “A complaint”. I wonder how that sounds like whining to you. SSS, What I meant was that I need three clicks after getting to the home page. I used to like it earlier when they had all the links on the home page itself.

JOE2010 is full of cheekiness and mischief.

I found that when dealing with JOE2010, I just use devastating wit and he usually runs away crying.

My main suggestion is that the General Forum shouldn’t be categorized as CFA or CAIA etc… it should be General Finance Discussion. In theory, there could be general issues about each exam, but they seem to come up rarely enough that you could combine General CFA, General CAIA, General FRM into a single General Forum.

I just save whatever forums I want in a bookmarks folder in FireFox and then just click “Open All in Tabs” and it brings up all forums. I participate in a lot of forums (10+), so it makes no sense to click through one at a time to get to all the forums within AnalystForum or including other forums.

^^^ Good idea. I just type “anal” into my browser and it comes up with “analystforum.com/etc.bla.bla.bla”. I then choose the one that ends in “…/list.php?1” and that’s general discussion. If someone has a keyboard snooping software installed on my machine, though, they must be pretty amused with what they think about my tastes.

I do that too if I just want to get to AF. I find that left pinky finger on “a” and left index finger on “n”, combined with the mouse in the right hand saves me the trip to the “l” either with the left index finger or a finger on the right hand. You neither have to type in the “l” nor the “enter” key. A potential drawback is if you have a large number of websites that have “ana” in there, you might have to search through the drop down menu items with your right hand mouse action, but this hasn’t really happened to me since either there aren’t too many choices or AF is near the top. Anyways, too much gory detail.

The topic is a suggestion, but the motive is a complaint, or whining. Change. > SSS, > > What I meant was that I need three clicks after > getting to the home page. I think there should be a sticky called “Suggestions” for threads like these. Feedback is an integral part of any business, whether online or brick and mortar.
