Abby Huntsman

So apprarently there’s a socialist in my office because the channel on the lunchroom TV was changed to MSNBC sometime after lunch. I just went to get a cup of tea and shazam…there’s Abby Huntsman. When did MSNBC start hiring attractive on-air personalities?

Do you know she is the daughter of Jon Huntsman, one of the disturbingly right wing Republican candidates for the 2012 Presidential election?

So, Higg man. If you could have her or Megan McCain, which would it be?

I’m biased toward women with a bit of color, but even without that bias Huntsman destroys Megan McCain.

Jon Huntsman is actually quite moderate, which is why he was very quickly bounced from contention.

Disturbingly right wing? More like center-right, he’s pretty moderate.

yah, she’s got all the TV’s turned onto MSNBC in the afternoon during her show in my office.

I must have confused him with the other, more disturbingly right wing alternatives.

Don’t be surprised to see him try to run as an independent in 2016. From what I gather, he’s very upset with the direction the GOP has taken the last few years and would actually view it as a positive for the party in the long-run if he pulled a lot of votes away from the GOP nominee (assuming it’s someone who’s really far right).

^ I heard him on Charlie Rose in late 2011/early 2012. He was probably the brightest candidate I’ve heard in a while, regardless of political affiliation.

^ It really is a shame that the wingnuts in the GOP make it impossible for him to win the nomination. Although he’s a bit lacking in charisma, he’s got all the qualifications of a potentially good president: former governor (Utah was named the best run state in the country while he was governor), business background, foreign policy experience (former trade representative and 2 x ambassador), and ability to work with democrats (was ambassador to China for Obama administration).

^ It’s rare that the moderate guy wins at conventions in this era. You have to tell your party what they want to hear and then try to slide to the middle come election time. That’s not an easy task to accomplish in this polarized world.
