ABS Issuance - which IB dept?

Hey AF, I was wondering if anyone here knew the names or general name of the department at IBs that deal with ABS issuance. For example, we know within IB there are M&A, leveraged finance, industry, and IPO groups to name a few. But, I’ve never come across a group specifically related to ABS issuance. Any help will be appreciated since I currently do ABS credit risk and would like to move onto ABS issuance later on. Thanks!

Nevermind guys. I got my answer from someone at work. It’s the DCM section of IB. Now to start networking…

As someone that works in Structured Finance and has dealt with the 90% decline in ABS issuance since 2007 I strongly suggest you seek an alternative…

dmnyc…can I email you with some questions and elaborate a bit more on why I want to join? If so, shoot me an email: sjv.afnyc@gmail.com Thanks!

I think it’s also good to state which asset class exactly is suffering from a slow down. Because, i definitely see auto deals still coming out and some CMBS that are soon to come. DMNYC, I’m not chasing the hot money. I’m just looking to learn issuance process from a capital markets point of view to complement my current experience in credit risk analysis. So although there might be fewer deals and less turnover…I’ll patiently wait until I get the chance to join a group.

Auto-backed, reverse mortgage, and reremic deal flow has picked up lately. I’ve also seen some distressed debt deals out there as well. The traditional RMBS deals are almost non-existent. m

Where Aussie banks issuing MBS in 2010?
