Accpet one week cruise as a reward for the great peformace for last year

If we want to accpet the client’s offer for one week cruise as a reward for the great peformace for last year

Do we need to

  1. Discloses to the employer

  2. Receives permission

  3. Both

Which one will you choose?

I think that you only have to disclose to the employer about the additional compensation. The compensation is tied up to the past performance, which is not expected to compromise your objectivity and independence.

If the reward is a promise for the future good performance, then the analyst should not accept it at all, since their might be a probability that he will be in favor of that client over other clients.

I would say, 1) disclose to employer as it is a gift from a client which is unlikely to impact their judgement. If it was a gift from a company that would be a different…

Just my opinion. Given up on revising ethics as it is such a grey area and I am never going to remember all the requirements vs recommendations…

Exactly.

Thanks for your explanation!
