Advice for 2011 L2 Candidates?

I’ve heard that L2 is an absolute beast!! My question for those that have taken and/or passed Level 2: How does the L2 prep / exam differ from the L1 in terms of approach and study strategy? Any advice is appreciated.

Schweser is good enough to learn the material. The reason people get pissed at Schweser is because: A) not enough sample problems B) QBank is not very representative of the exam C) People get to fixated on the plug-and-chug aspect rather than learn the concept That being said, LEARN CONCEPTS w/ the Schweser material. Fill in any gaps with the CFAI books. Do the EOC problems in addition to the Schweser problems. QBank is good for feeling comfortable w/ the material.

Coming back to this, let me repeat importance of doing EOC problems. They challenge you to think on a higher level than Qbank… which in turns helps you solidify concepts.

Good points. I used similar logic for L1 and crushed it

I used schweser / stalla , but took predominantly schwerser exam - I failed 2 times… ofcourse in the border… This time around, I did the old school way, I used schweser video/ mock to prep and spent the whole last month (full may) doing end of chapter from CFAi, That gave me a good advantage… I will highly recommend doing end of chapter CFAi + Sch Mock + Sch Book7 + CFA free exams… all after fully preparing… good luck

Whatever route you decide, definitely… definitely purchase the Stalla Videos. IMO, they are priceless. There is nothing like reading a topic and questioning if it was written in a foreign language. In most cases, instructor lead videos/classes ensure you will at least get your head around the core concepts of each reading.

Enjoy getting laid, it probably won’t last unless librarians have for a thing for you.
