AF after the exam

What I really looking forward to is the madness on the board following the exam. People will come here seeking answers, and closure, and some sort of feeling of control or certaintly as they drown in a sea of ambiguity. People will argue over the few specific questions they remember. I know that I will have gotten alot of theose specific questions wrong (because you only remember the really hard ones) and from that I will extrapolate an entire exam of wrong answers, and I will come to the conclusion that I failed. For 3 or 4 days I will come back to the board, just liek going back to the crack pipe, hoping to find some glimmer of evidence that will give me hope that I passed. I will not find it. And I will feel terrible despair. Until August, when I get my passing results.

so i will see you here a few days after the exam, then. good luck bud.

let’s see if we can recreate the entire test from memory like last year in LII - that was unbelievable

I just hope I’m not ranting like I was last year. All I ask is I walk out knowing I at least have a chance. Last year there we no doubt. I wasn’t in the least bit nervous opening my exam results in August.

I hated it last year when those people were discussing that I never saw before and they got all protective about their answer which was clearly wrong.

i was sure i failed last year. i said 50/50 but i was sure i failed. and i know i’m going to be sure i failed this year as well. it’s very annoying that i can’t gauge my performance at all. it’s like that with schweser too. just painful. some of my best scores have been when i’m feeling extra shtty about a test. i don’t understand it and i’m not looking forward to going through that again.

I will not discuss the content of the exam. There is no point.

I found the level of detail discussed at level II last year to be a frank violation of CFAI testing policy. The pledge we sign at the beginning of the exam is pretty crystal clear on this count: “After this exam, I will not disclose any portion of this exam…” *(CFAI says there may be some local variation on the language) Seriously. I would love to see that not happen again. Does nobody take that seriously?

It’s not as if we are trying to cheat on the test. We just want to know how we did. Is that so wrong? The Institute gives us very minimal information, and not until 3 months later.

You should cross out that part of the pledge and tell the CFAI that you disagree with them. I might happen to disagree with the policy, but I’m going to adhere to my pledge. There’s a big difference.

My god, you’re like my west coast twin.

i thought i read that it was reccommended not to talk about the test, CFA is never clear on this

Yeah, you’re not supposed to discuss specific questions on the examinations.

Yeah, but what I hate the most is a bunch of unknown people come out of nowhere, take over the forum and fill it with incorrect information.

Black Swan are you prepared?

I think so, I hit a 76 and 83 on samples 2 and 3. Just read GIPS so that’s fresh. Gonna hit up IPS stuff for the rest of the night and review notes / formula sheets (thanks) tomorrow before running through the AM portions of the past exams.

That’s better than I did on the samples for sure. It’s amazing to me how much of this test is simply keeping material fresh on your mind.

The situation I described in the first post of this thread is the EXACT situation I now find myself in.

At least this thread has names in it that I can relate to ;-). Who the hell are these other people? Some of them must be thinking that if you defend your answer here, it may give you credit when CFAI is grading it.
