after sending email to references

I went thru the app process and submitted my refs. Anybody knows when the references will receive the email from CFAI?

I would like to know myself. I sent my emails last week and still got nothing. I think they just have not come around to it yet. My boss filled his comments in quickly.

They get sent as soon as you press the button. For me, when the reference submitted the comments I got a pretty quick automated repsonse confirming the reference.

Do you know what the email subject looks like? Just wondering if my refs deleted the emails w/o reading them.

Yeah keith good point. may have went into his spam mailbox. So far its been a couple of days so guess Ill give my boss the benefit of the doubt that he is too busy to do it.

Anybody knows why the reference emails take forever to go out. It’s been several days and my refs haven’t received anything. Aren’t these things supposed to go out immediately?

They went out immediately for me, i think you should check the email you submitted or check with CFAI.

You could press resend on your application for membership.

when your reference completes the submission you will receive an email that it is done and see the status update in your pending membership application.

it has been almost 2 weeks now and my refs have not received anything. I spoke to them yesterday and they confirmed. I called the Cfa Institute and they sent the emails and my refs still didn’t receive them. The cfai said they don’t understand why. So they sent me a pdf of the forms to send to my refs so they can manually fill out. This is becoming annoying now.

and then you send the pdf’s back to CFAI? how else do you upload your files?

it’s so troublesome and i think there will be possible mix up if you send the pdfs to them to upload, because there are probably many candidates with the same issue.

Yeah I have to send them back to them. I can see this dragging on. What I don’t understand is the vp I report to received the email and signed off. I think I’m going to not use a cfa charter holder as a ref but use my director and a former director who I use to work with. Then I will have 3 refs without a cfa but at least I can walk over to their office to ask immediately when I send the emails. At least I can manage the process with more control.
