- Already have a good job at a financial company but want to increase my street cred.
26 years, someone want to find out the average age?
Other than age - what about gender?
I’d take a stab at it and guess 90/10. It’s worse than finance undergrad.
31
90% male? Finance undergrad is mostly male too?
Yes and yes.
How come most accounting students are female? Stability?
Because accounting is like cheer leading.
HA HA HA
If I had to take a random guess, I’d say probably because females aren’t attracted to the stereotypes associated with finance.
Agree, much less cyclical, although a lot of females are in marketing. Not sure how stable that industry is.
Marketing isn’t stable at all, but it requires lots of noises
I don’t think the accounting stereotypes are that attractive…
Maybe accounting needs a lot less math than finance
The accountants I know are deathly afraid of making business decisions, but they like business. So they become accountants and get to be exposed to business from the sidelines…they tend to take on the role of cheer leaders.
great summary of accounting, but i dont think anyone would admit that
Who’s more boring: accountants or actuaries?
…don’t judge too harshly, sometimes peeps are just trying to make a living
I don’t, they make good $$$, especially actuaries.
Acturuials actually do a lot of NPV calculations. So it doesn’t seem that boring.
22 didn’t know I m one of the youngest
I am too lazy to input ALL data, but based on pages 6, 7 and 8 of this thread, 30 is the average.
Page Total Average # Resp 8 362.67 30.2225 12 7 672 29.21739 23 6 743 29.72 25 Combined 1777.67 29.62783 60
Accounting is brutal.
