Ok so I am almost done reading through all the schewser material over the last few months (SS17 Left) slowly chipping at them whenever I got a chance. BUT I do not remember anything…I am planning on hitting the video CDs with accompanying notes + reading the summaries from this weekend on till end of April, then hit the questions in May (CFAI) and finally secret sauce and practice exams…what do you guys think? You think that’s a good strategy?
I like your strategy. You might be want to take a sample exam in the next couple of weeks though to see what to expect.
I think if I take a sample exam with near 0 retention, I will freak out as I will fail miserably…so I will perhaps do one right after schewser CDs at end of April…
If you have qbank I would do some of those as often as you can. they are simple questions (in comparision to CFAI questions). I find this helps a lot with retention. If you don’t have qbank, try going through the CC questions, maybe do 1 or 2 SS of CC a day or so. I have been trying to do 20-60 qbank questions a day for the past little while and have retained quite a bit of info from this
ok officially done the readings…took a few days off and now time to hit the video CDs…

I always found that when I try to manually sit and recall what it is that I know, I always panic. You just have to trust yourself. When you see the question it’ll come back to you. I don’t know if I could explain or remember how to value a swap, but when I see the problem, I just know.
Exactly what I am feeling, I sometimes don’t even recognize which part a question comes from …and I can’t " Ctrl F"
Have you looked at the CFAI texts at all?
I also roughly finished all the Schweser readings. Thought I remembered nothing, took two afternoon sessions to see where I was without remembering formulas and memorization, scored around 60%+ on both. When you hit the questions, things will come back to your mind…
That’s a very good score given the half-hearted effort. How much time do you intend on spending on CFAI end of chapter questions? I finish my first read through end of this month and am just assessing how I should spend my time next month.
nope
After a second reading and a blank, I just decided to run the qbank questions, EOC Qs and 6-year past Qs. For the 6-year essay past qs I arranged them according to SSs and work them out along with the other question sources available. These days I try to do some exam review on qbank, based on what I’ve revised, then I work out on all the revised areas on the 6-year essay PQs at least twice a week to keep it in the head…
