What are you guys going to remember for the exam? Do we need to know the benchmarks by name and construction and biases of all the different benchmarks? eg MLMA/DJ Commodity
Only one i spent time on is real estate. NAREIT vs NCREIF. Specifically the shortcomings of NCREIF for direct RE investments (based on appraisal values, can be stale, smoothing of returns, lower apparent risk/stnd dev). Can be good for comping large institutional RE holdings NAREIT is a good index for indirect/reit investments as its based on market trading values.
