I noticed the topic breakout for Level II on the CFA website includes 5-15% on Alternative Investments. Since there is no section that is explicity broken out for this, what do you think the topics could be? Hedge funds? Real Estate? Any others you can think of?

SS14 is Fixed Income. I thought SS13 was Alternative Investments?
Which SS is dedicated for this topic area : Alternative Investment ?? SS 13 ??

Wow that’s a good question. Well it is certainly Hedge Funds and Real Estate. RI is part of this SS but that’s equity. Are you telling me that 15% could come from those tiny chapters on HF and RE! I better read the required readings.
Yea I believe it’s SS 13…we’re probably looking at an item set on real estate
I think the CFAI screwed up when assigning topic weightings and meant to included this 5%-15% for Alt Investments with equity. I think this because if you do the math, you can’t have the max possible weightings for “Asset Classes” and meet the minimums for the other sections. Pure speculation. Either way you have to believe there will be one vig on HF or RE. Schweser emailed the CFAI about the “fuzzy math” on topic weightings. The offered no explanation and merely replied something like, “only the most astute of candidates will notice this.”
i really need to review realestate b/c i did not grasp to much there… i just cant see a whole 6 questions on that… at least i hope not… however i am going to attack it… i will not leave anything for chance… except emerging mkt valuation… i gave up on that,
