Analysis of the NFL Draft

Enjoyed the data there, but there are a lot of issues with it. Yes Eli was drafted by the Chargers technically, but he was acquired by the Giants a few moments later. Why should that not count as a Giants draft pick if it would have counted had they made the trade for the draft pick itself prior to the Chargers actually drafting Manning? Also, Romo was signed as an UDFA by the Cowboys - as far as I’m concerned, that’s not much different than a 7th round pick.

It takes away from the second graphic showing video games and team wins. If you count Romo as being drafted by the Cowboys and Eli as drafted by the Giants and Rivers by the Chargers, there wouldn’t be a second graphic. Gotta love creative journalism lol

I find it interesting that the 2 most successful teams on there, in terms of actual SB wins, the Giants and 49er’s, are not particularly good at drafting QB’s. In fact, the only team that’s good at drafting QB’s and has had SB success is New England.

^ Pittsburgh???

The Steelers only have 2 SB victories since 1984, grouping them with the Redskins, Rams, Ravens, Broncos, and Packers. San Fran and the Giants both have 4. NE and Dallas both have 3.

That’s tricky though. Montana was drafted before 1984 thus isn’t included in that chart but accounts for three of those Super Bowls for the niners. Phil Simms was also drafted before 1984 and accounts for one of those for the Giants (Hostetler the other as a fill in).

fml josh gordon might ne kicked out of the league…he is my keeper…that ounce cost him $40 mil…fuking idiot

2014 will be Gordon’s and Jeffery’s year. AJ will be up there too. I would shop Megatron if I held him in a keeper league.

gordon might be suspended for the year

I watched the draft for approximately one minute today. It happened to be at the exact moment michael Sam started making out with his bf.

FML.

Yeah Michael Sam!!.. go RAMS…

I wish Michael Sam would have been drafted sooner. Now we are gonna hear about how homophobic the nfl is for not drafting him sooner.

so funny they showed him on the phone for 5 minutes but as soon as he started making out with his bf they switched it off

Speaking of live TV moments, is it true Brady Quinn got dumped by his GF during the 07 draft? My buddy says so but I have a hard time believing that.

never heard that b4.

which teams do yall canadiens root for?

Depends where you live in the country. Out west in BC the Seahawks are the closest. In Toronto, the Bills are more popular and they even play 1 game a year there. The Steelers, Cowboys, Patriots, 49ers, Giants and Packers have their loyal fanbases.

some guy who is a stoolers fan was presenting a pick today was announced that he is from florda, lol…typical bandwagon fans…them and cowboys have most bandwagon fans.

would be intersting to see a graphic of who in canadia roots for which team

^ depends when and where people grew up I guess. If you grew up in the 70’s, Steelers. 80’s, 49ers. 90’s, Cowboys. In the Greater Toronto Area there are a lot of Bills fans. I wouldn’t call Steelers and Cowboys fans bandwagon fans just because they have the most spread out fan base. Back a few decades ago, you could only see your local team on tv or good teams. Therefore if you see the Cowboys on tv all the time when you first start watching football, you are more likely to be a fan of them. This is especially true for kids. Btw, bandwagon fans jump on and off the bandwagon during good times and bad. The Cowboys have been bad for years but still have a great fan base. How do you explain that?

I’m a Steelers fan because my mother is from Pitts and I grew up one. I suffered through the Kordell Stewart era. I know what it’s like to struggle through the bad years to get to the good ones.
