great read. i agree with trading back and aquiring more picks.

All eyes on Johnny Football tonight.

^thats it. He’s done. Stick a fork in him.

Nobody escapes the black hole of career death that is the Cleveland browns.

Manziel is done. Browns=recipe for failure

I can’t wait to mess with all the aggies at the office tomorrow.

Does that kill Josh Gordon’s career?

I live in Cleveland and I’m not a native – so I’m pretty excited about it.

I’d say it’ll be pretty exciting one way or the other.

edit: Though it would’ve been more exciting to have Sammy + Johnny…However, I think trading back and grabbing an extra 1st next year is a pretty slick deal.

Yea. I really liked your link Igor. Trading back seems like you get great value.

I was skeptical of the GMEN pick, but I’m thinking it’s gonna be awesome now. Odell Jr could take it to the house on every kick/punt.

^^ That’s great 1st round value… now we have the best KR/PR in the business… /s

We can talk all we want about trading up/down. Fact of the matter is that Eli has 2 rings while Rivers has none. Who gives a shit about stats?

I’m mixed on the Giants’ pick. They needed another receiver with Nicks gone, not that he was anything special, but Beckham is a bit short for my tastes. Gmen also signed Trindon Holliday as return man back in March, so I don’t know how much Beckham will be used on returns. The part I do like is that I think the Eagles were targeting him, and that resulted in them trading down and reaching a bit with Marcus Smith.

I read that the 49ers were trying to get Odell too. Makes me feel a lot better about the pick…

Thank you Cleveland. I think there was a good chance KC would have picked up Johnny Football. While that would have been exciting and really rallied the fan base, the chances are good he’s going to be a bust.

Then again Cleveland knows what they’re doing. Things worked out well for Brady Quinn, right? Funny enough, Quinn was the Chiefs backup for a couple years. Manziel should look good as our backup in about 5 years too.

^ Johnny Football won’t be in the league in 5 years.

i wouldn’t laugh at the Browns inability to draft quarterbacks if I were you:

^ Drafting good QB’s sure hasn’t helped Atlanta when it counts.

To be fair, we’ve only drafted two QBs in that time frame and Brodie Croyle went 0-11 as a starter. It all started with Todd Blackledge and the '83 draft. We could have taken Jim Kelley or Dan Marino, but instead we took the original Ryan Leaf. After that we just stopped drafting franchise QBs. That’s why things got really exciting for Chiefs fans last night. Even though most of us believe Manziel will be a bust, many Chiefs fans weren’t born (or still sucking on teats) the last time we tried to draft a starting QB. Croyle was a 3rd rounder and doesn’t really count. His best contribution was his hot wife on Hard Knocks.

that stat includes brett favre which is why Atlanta is number one.

Favre had 0 starts as a Falcon, so he’s not in there. Just like the Giant’s have won a game in 15 years with a QB they drafted.

^ Are you sure? The way I read the chart was the number of wins by the quarterback (regardless of team he played on) sorted by team that drafted him.

Manning was drafted by the Chargers so the Giants haven’t won a game with a quaterback they drafted in 15 years.

^ You’re right, I stand corrected.
