Analyst Forum: Some thoughts and suggestions

Its a great feeling to have successfully completed the EXAM part today. I really want to thank everyone here for knowledge sharing as well emotional support. Just a few suggestions: * I just hope that people can stop from getting personal and showing their ego in all the posts that formally say " Not trying to boast…but…" * Its nice to have some fun but i think too many times those borders are crossed.Case in point 3 on 3 thread. Its debetable if writing that is boasting or not but as others have rightly pointed out we are in the society where we are supposed to flaunt few things.Be it your designation, wealth, or other trait. One can also question the fact that 99% of the charter holders put CFA in front of their names. All I want to say is there is a very fine line between being Proud and being Boastful. * Being a charterholder does not mean that you are the smartest but it definately is an achievement and how one expresses that is one’s own decision. One should have a freedom to express it as 3 on (or of ?) 3, passed all exams in one shot, or just XXX, CFA. I am no expert on Ethics (or anything for that matter) but I think all it CFA says (both in literal sense as well as in underlying meaning) is what you write should be a statement of facts! * Feel sorry for all those who could not make it this time.Just want to say dont take any decision in next few days allow it to sink in.Only then make your call. * For those preparing for L3 first time (First of all congrats on making it here) Focus on understanding everything, focus on AM session ,do lot of practice on calculating required returns, liquidity, both before and after taxes, EOCs, Risk mgmt problems and last but not the least READINGS 45-47. I always thought that this exam will heavily include those readings. * From my personal epxrience start preparing for it NOW.Dont worry about burn out etc etc.Start reading NOW. Please take this post in the right spirit. Hats off for starting this forum. I have personally benefitted a lot from this.Looking forward to make some contribution to it in years to come.
