I’ve done 2009-2016 AM tests averaging 62%, mock exams averaging 68%, all topic tests averaging 65%.
How should i feel going in to this last week and what else should i be studying other than EOC?
I say you are ok… If I was a guessing man I would say if you average 62-70% overall you have a good chance Focus on areas you are weak and can pick up easy points… those may help you push you over the hurdle from band 10 to pass…
I failed Band 10 in 2010 and was all due to easy points lost (I know it because I just re did the AM exam and can see what type of easy points I would have lost)… took a 7 year Leave because I was so deflated now not sure if I am more prepared this year or less… as of right now less, hoping by Saturday morning more
How much were you averaging in the mocks, past AMs before your Band 10?
N.VanCandidate, if it means anything I think you are on the right track. your asking all the right questions, you seem to understand the main points and like you said in a previous post you have a background working with IPS’. As a yardstick, with other candidates that I know both in person and over the internet, if you are able to work through prior exams and actually understand the whats, whys, and hows that is leaps and bounds better than candidates who review mocks and it looks foreign to them.
Keep it up, i’m positive you’re on the right track.
When you get nervous think about all the young guns who barely can read and write English who will be sitting for the exam. Makes me sleep easier at night, especially since I know I am outworking almost 90% of the body of candidates.

I think I know all the big topics and know for a fact I know IPS stuff cold as I have been writing and reviewing Financial Plans for years in my field of work; where I will have to watch myself is my time… In real world you get all the time you need to write a plan and tend to go in details which is what is exactly I should not do on this exam… I have done 3 AMs so far and scores have been in 60s but not under timed condition, will be doing two more under timed condition Wed and Thur and that should at least give me a practice for Saturday. Other than that will be working on weak areas through TTs to pick up those possible easy points. I know it is just an exam but having taken a 7 year break from it I just want it done now … no benefit to my work and career at this point or in immediate future but it is a personal challenge I set out to do years ago and I never leave any challenges unfinished.
