Any Tips for the Level 2 exam?

Schweser notes or CFAi books?

I’am currently reviewing for the 2015 level 2, anyone did passed solely by using the Schweser notes for level 2? Any comments or suggestions about which book to use? I’ve spent 2 months just to finish the book 1 of CFA level 2. (Ethics, Quant, Econ - 700 pages) Thinkin of using the schweser notes to make my reading much more faster compared to that 2months for 700 pages.

CFAi has so much ideas aside from the target LOS. I don’t think I can even remember all of those ideas. Schweser notes are very direct to the point of what are the essentials to learn and pass the exam.

Man, I think you should definitely change your strategy… At this pace, you will hardly have time to review the topics you will have studied, and for sure not enough time to do tons of practice exams.

My personal believe is that you should read everything while understanding it (although not memorizing it since that is goint to be impossible), and after finishing the curriculum, thousands and thousands of exercises + mock exams.

It took me 3 weeks to finish the 1st book (Schweser though) and I’m not an english native speaker…

Cheers

I try my best to understand everything before moving on, and that really makes me very slow to read it. I’m not an english native too.

3 weeks to finish the 700pages? You’re great and very fast reader!

I have 16 hours every saturday and sunday to study, and 3 hours for the weekdays.

But my average pages per day for the weekdays is only around 2-9 pages. (3 hours of study)

and every week end I can do around 17 pages - 40 pages (16 hours of study)

I’am really having a hard time pacing with the books, even for the level 1 exam,

I am unemployed that time, so I reviewed 16 hours everyday for 4 months (that’s almost 2,000 hours)

just to pass the level 1.

I really need better strategy and how to make my reading faster. Please give me tips and advices.

You might be an accountant?

I’am also doing the End of chapter questions as soon as I finish the whole reading

3 weeks for Schweser, which is approx 360 pages.

12 hours/week = 36 hours

360 pages / 36 hours = 10 pages per hour

I think is not extremely fast given that the Ethics part is pretty much the same than Level 1… Maybe too fast but because my strategy is to learn it by heart once I will have read everything, not now.

Anyway, I still think that you have to do something different: 2 pages in 3 hours? Man…

I think that you should study from schweser & in case of any doubt then only refer the curriculum…
