I feel like everything and anything in the world pisses me off anymore. My #1: When friends tell me they’re “tired” even though they go to bed at 10PM every night and wake up at 630AM. My #2: “Man what are you doing… I’m so bored right now”
or, “What is that thing your studying for? the Certified Financial Analyst?” “How much longer do you have to go? When is it?? What is it???”
“Your test is in June… what are you studying now for?”
“Oh you’ll be fine!”

“How was your weekend, weather was beautiful huh?”
Oh wow - so you’re becoming a Chartered Accountant.
+1
whatever to you all in this thread, wanna-be-lawyers are worried about their bar exams, wanna-be-doctors are worrying about their mcats, and homeless bums are worrying about the rain tonight. everybody operates under some kind of stress level and the importance of the cfa exam and all your hard work is relative. not everyone can or should relate to it, and you shouldn’t expect them to ,either
i agree with Mobius Striptease, despite our background of comedic conflict with each other
I don’t expect people to relate… I’m just ranting… duh.

The CPA thing bugs me for sure… Just this week one of my bosses was trying to convince me to “go for my CPA,” and not waste my time with this test. He really has no clue what a CFA is, but whatever. I don’t know, I’m sure a CPA is tough in its own right, but I think it’s more about taking a ton of accounting classes, and less about disciplined self study and memorizing a ton of formulas. Not interested at all.
The forum takes ‘worrying’ to all-together different levels. People who don’t frequent this website much or don’t have login-id’s per say are hardly worried about what the 'rest-of-the-world is doing for the exam. They do whatever is need to diligently pass this exam- probably 3 months with a full time job since they have no benchmark to compare too. We here read responses from the most brilliant and dedicated people and feel super under prepared (which is not the case) as we are comparing ourselves with the best. I feel guilty too, when I don’t study for a day or 2 and then log in to AF on the 3rd day to see 14 pages of intense discussion over the most esoteric topics and feel like a jerk with a blank slate who knows nothing about anything. This exam is taxing and we know what hell we have to go thought to pass the exam and I don’t expect people to relate to why I am putting in so much of effort or give me a standing ovation once I pass a level. It’s yet another certification for them (if you like), and true friends will really appreciate the hardwork you are putting in to reach your goals. Just put in your 100% keeping work-life balance, taking breaks as and when needed, and you are sure to dominate the exam. It’s not a biggie you know. When thousand other people have done it in the past, we too can do it. Just don’t let the surroundings/environment/circumstances bother you for the next 30 days.
“What is a CFA and what does it do?” “Its a certificate for finance people, you know, Kinda like a Master degree in finance.” “A master, eh? Do you think you know more than me, smart ass? I have a MBA from Podunk State University with a concentration in Finance and Real Estate.”
Exactly right.
