Anyone here work in CIBC research? What happened to the research franchise? I know they discontinued coverage of certain sectors as of today, but does anyone know if they dropped coverage of everything?

Sorry for the late response. YoMama was right about the sale of the assets. The deal was announced about 1.5 months ago, and closed last week. Are you in Canada or US numi? I can provide more details.
i’m in the US. i was more curious than anything else. did most of the analysts/associates previously employed by CIBC move to oppenheimer, or were there some people that were let go as part of the asset sale? thanks in advance for your feedback.
From what i heard, most of the people from the CIBC side were kept and the oppenheimer people let go.
