Anyone taking the exam in Bangkok :S?! any news about that?

hi… am registered to take the exam in Bangkok and due to Fly in there on december 3rd. as you all know with the situation in Bangkok it will be impossible to go there… so any one got news from the institute what there action will be about that? any one with similar situation as mine got any news about anything !!? i can imagine the idea of not taking the exam after a year full of hard work !!!

Yesterday some reporter said on our evening news that they flew in over one of the other airports, I believe they mentioned Phuket. Maybe you can reschedule.

international flights to phuket? from where? am out of thailand i dont think there is international flights to phuket in the first place to go from phuket to bangkok? if there is please tell me how! and currently the exam centre please BITEC is being used to accommodate stranded travelers so how they gonna hold the exam there?!

a civil war in thailand, a terriost attack in mumbai, a global economic meltdown… and you are worrying about writing the exam… just write it in june in hong kong. why would you ever choose bangkok anyways. you should fail for signing up there in the first place.

Dude, don’t be a douche… I’m sure he has his reasons whystudy Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > a civil war in thailand, a terriost attack in > mumbai, a global economic meltdown… and > you are worrying about writing the exam… > > just write it in june in hong kong. why would you > ever choose bangkok anyways. you should fail for > signing up there in the first place.

Why don’t you fly to Phuket or Koh Samui and catch a bus or drive (I think it is 550-800km)? Not ideal preparation for the exam, but a man has to do what a man has to do, no?

I promise that I will write a ballad and perform it on YouTube for anyone who flies to Koh Samui and takes a bus to Bangkok amidst the civil strife in Thailand, takes the exam, and passes it. Perhaps a link to it on your resume would help in a job search?

Why not call CFAI? They have a hot line and if there is a way they can help you they will.

I’m just back from Thailand. It’s pretty peaceful away from the hot zone. They just like a coup now and then, that’s all.

Etienne studied for his CFA charter to switch careers from combat photographer, so just take that with a grain of salt.

This raises an interesting issue in my mind. I wonder what CFAI think that their legal liability is for the duty of care to provide a safe testing environment. Playing devils advocate here but could they be found liable if they had refused requests to move testing location and an incident occurred. I can’t see this being in anybodies best interest really.

In case you haven’t read, the exam is still on for the 7th. http://www.cfainstitute.org/aboutus/worldwide/asiapac/india/bangkok_exam.html

You might consider flying into Chiang Mai. I believe there are international flights at the airport there.

I hope you make it; I’d really like to see that ballad on Youtube that JoeyDVivre mentions.

Call the CFAI no# for your country and they will be able to help you.
