I will take level 3 in June. I am quite behind with my study schedule, if everything goes well I will finish to study the material for beginning of May and then start to review, with one week off from work at the end of May.
I have one hour lunch break and I would like to use it to study but I can use just my phone (it would not be practical to bring my laptop). Do you recommend any resource to use on your phone, which app is the best in your opinion?
Also, I spend around 40 minutes commuting to work every day, anybody has experience listening to cfa books or other resources?
I don’t mind spend money, so please feel free to recommend also paid resource if you think these are the best.
I’m tempted to plunk down the scratch for this. I ripped the audio off some Wiley video lessons for Level II last year for my daily commute during the last month before the exam and I found just listening to the concepts and discussions to be pretty helpful. My commute is about 8 hours a week so this could work out well. $250 bucks though. That’s a lot of post exam beer money. Decisions.
I would discourage you from buying the audio or video packages. In the past, the audio portion was some guy reading directly from the study notes. The videos were slightly better but not by much as it was just instructors re-explaining what was in the study notes.
Instead of throwing more cash at the study providers, I recommend using some kind of note cards to reinforce the material preferably ones that you have created on your own. (Note: The flash cards I purchased (and subsequently quickly tossed aside) were copied and pasted from the study notes which led me to develop my own.)
I tried that actually with level one. I think I bailed after 5 minutes if listening to a monotone computer voice. Schweser audio is actual guy reading to you and he utilizes expression. It’s much easier to listen too. He is actually a repair man, fixes washing machines, dryers and home appliances from what I was told. Interesting huh? Lol
