I’ve been solving some questions In Schweser Qbank to retain the information while I’m studying some new topics.
one thing That’s bothering me is the fact that some of the questions in Qbank are REALLY long.I mean there is no way I can solve them in 90 seconds. especially some questions in the FRA are absurdly long. I’m talking about a single question asking me to compare Income statements, balance sheet, and cash flow of 2 some times 3 different companies. Just reading the question and the data provided is going to take me at least 2 minutes.
so my question is that, are there actually questions this long in the CFA I exam?
I was under the impression that the questions are short and easily solved with mental calculations and the occasional use of the calculator. (without any scrap paper)
The practice questions from various prep providers are sometimes unrealistically long because their objective isn’t merely to test your knowledge; it’s also to help you learn.
The questions asked in the CFA exam should typically be able to be solved within 90 seconds, although some candidates could take time, if it is a hard question. The Schweser mock exams are a much better indicator of exam-style questions than the Schweser Qbank or the Schweser EOCs. The official CFA mock is also similar to the type of questions asked in the actual exam.
I don’t think it’s the correct way to look at it that questions will be solvable in under 90 seconds. On average, they will be. But some will be short and fast, and some longer. However, I doubt you’d see many that require over 2- 2 1/2 minutes. That is, if you know what you’re doing.
