Can someone pls explain the meaning of this term. I looked it up in the dictionary but I can’t make financial sense of it.
It means non-sychronized. Things happen at different times. Think of asymmetrical and symmetrical.

we are both supposed to give each other high-fives.
we both raise hand same time … - synchronous.
I raise hand but you don’t, I wait and put it down… then you raise your hand… - asynchronous (we are not synchronized)
