I just took the level one exam and I feel okay about it. I am if I should go ahead and purchase level 2 products now so that I can get some head start.
I’m wondering what people averaged on their respective mock exams (CFAI, Schweser, etc.) and ended up passing. I think this would be a good measure for me to see if I can move ahead and purchase level 2 product. Thanks for your input.
I scored 71% to 75% on three of the Schweser mocks (taken April and May) and my 40/60/80 score on the June exam was an estimated 74%. I scored 75% on the CFAI Mock a week before taking the exam.
You should keep in mind that some people can handle test day better than others. This may account for material differences between mock scores and actual test scores for some people that are adversely impacted by test-day stress.
In my early studying for Level II, the equity section seems somewhat comparable to Level I. It builds off dividend and free cash flow valuation models gone over in Level I, so if you want to begin Level II studying I’d start with equity investments. If it turns out you need to take Level I again, the Level II equity stuff should still help you toward Level I. Good luck.
I rarely scored higher than 80% in my mocks thoughout all levels, so i think you are well prepared.
HOWEVER, mock exams are mock exams, there’s no guarentee and even if you feel “good” about the exam when you come out from the test centre, you never really know until the email comes…
