band 10 guess the score

I failed at band 10 and am so disappointed.I am posting 3 charts out of which 2 are passing scores and 1 is band 10.which one do you think could be the band 10 score ? #1 Q#TopicMax Pts<=50%51%-70%>70% -Alternative Investments 8 -*- -Corporate Finance 20 -*- -Derivatives 12 -*- -Economics 24 -*- -Equity Investments 24 -*- -Ethical & Professional Standards 36 -*- -Financial Reporting & Analysis 48 -*- -Fixed Income Investments 28 --* -Portfolio Management 12 --* -Quantitative Methods 28 --* #2 Q#Topic Max Pts <=50%51%-70%>70% -Alternative Investments 8 -*- -Corporate Finance 20 --* -Derivatives 12 *-- -Economics 24 -*- -Equity Investments 24 --* -Ethical & Professional Standards 36 -*- -Financial Reporting & Analysis 48 -*- -Fixed Income Investments 28 --* -Portfolio Management 12 --* -Quantitative Methods 28 --* #3 Q#Topic Max Pts <=50% 51%-70% >70% -Alternative Investments 8 --* -Corporate Finance 20 -*- -Derivatives 12 -*- -Economics 24 --* -Equity Investments 24 --* -Ethical & Professional Standards 36 --* -Financial Reporting & Analysis 48 -*- -Fixed Income Investments 28 -*- -Portfolio Management 12 --* -Quantitative Methods 28 -*-

#1 is the band 10. #1 got >70 on sections with a combined 68 points #2 >70 on 112 points #3 >70 on 104 points …but then again, it all depends how close to the cutoff for the scoring range…a lot of “69s” (thus in the middle range) might pull it off, theoretically.

I was B10 last year and, despite what I thought at the time, in hindsight it was the best thing that could happen. I spent this year truly mastering the material (execpt it seems Econ…) and feel truly prepared for L2. Trust me, you don’t want to touch L2 until you truly get a handle on the L1 stuff.

I am band 10 with below…>70 on 132 points… go figure!!! - Alternative Investments 8 - - * - Corporate Finance 20 - - * - Derivatives 12 - * - - Economics 24 - * - - Equity Investments 24 - * - - Ethical & Professional Standards 36 - - * - Financial Reporting & Analysis 48 - * - - Fixed Income Investments 28 - - * - Portfolio Management 12 - - * - Quantitative Methods 28 - - *

I’ll go with #2 (or 3). If number 1 were the correct answer, humash wouldn’t be asking.

I would say #1 as well.

i’d go with 2 for band 10?? if not then 3…

Thanks all for your replies. These are my marks and i failed.Which according to the above post i think i should have passed then. #3 Q#Topic Max Pts <=50% 51%-70% >70% -Alternative Investments 8 --* -Corporate Finance 20 -*- -Derivatives 12 -*- -Economics 24 --* -Equity Investments 24 --* -Ethical & Professional Standards 36 --* -Financial Reporting & Analysis 48 -*- -Fixed Income Investments 28 -*- -Portfolio Management 12 --* -Quantitative Methods 28 -*- chart #1 and #2 are the passed ones.

Don’t read too much into it, there’s a lot of people in band 10, and those whom just barely passed, that are about the same in knowing the material. I was greater than 70 in four categories, FI and Quant being two of the 4. But I agree with Gordon; in a way I’m happy knowing that when level 2 rolls around I’ll be very strong in my level 1 comprehension.
