Basic question

Ok, I realize that this seems like a really basic question, but I want to make sure… The book value of a company is just SE, right? But would I also include minority interest (if given)?

The book value of a company that uses the Consolidation Method to account for subsidiaries or investments is simply the Stockholder’s Equity. The minority interest line item is the amount of subsidiaries or investments that the consolidating company does not own.
