Hello guys, I was wondering about the best approach for practicing the concepts. I am planning to get rid of the CFAI end of chapter exercises, then move to the end of chapter of Schweser books. Is that enough to start practice exams afterwards? do you recommend any other staff before the mock exams? thanks! M.
hey guys, any reply? thanks! M.
schweser concept checkers, CFAI questions, Qbank, schweser practice exam, CFAI mock that is all for me in their sequence …
Don’t forget about the practice questions CFAI has online. The advantage is that unlike Schweser they’re written by the same people writing the test. The problem is that its online while the real exam is on paper, you can’t skip questions, and you can only go through them once. So I’m thinking of just doing the free one and then buying the Schweser practice exams. CFAI has done candidates a real disservice by offering their practice material in that way. They should at least let you print the free exams.
What is the website for this CFAI online questions? or all what you mean is example and mock tests?
I was thinking of this way Schweser end of chapter exercise >> CFAIend of chapter exercise + Question bank >> Schweser practice exam 1-2 (book 6) >> CFAI sample exam >> Schweser practice exam remaining (book 6) >> CFAI mock exam In between these I will also try to solve Schweser practice exam 1-3 (book 7) without time constraint

yeah, you have to do those tests, especially after finishing schweser practice tests, and right before the judgement day most of the time, you feel relaxed after doing them …
Thanks for your replies guys, I am not familiar with QBank questions. How longtime do you think they should require? thanks! M.
I am planning on: Schweser concept checkers > CFAI end of chapter questions > Qbank, > practice tests/CFAI sample/Mocks. There are a TON of Qbank questions (4200) but unless you’re really struggling with a topic, you can probably skip most of the “basic” questions because they’re pretty easy , especially if you’re doing concept checkers and CFAI also. The basic questions also take up a huge part of the database so skipping those will save you a ton of time if you need it. Maybe take a short basic test to see where you stand and, if that comes out ok, then move onto intermediate. There are 600 advanced questions and I plan on doing each of those, but the rest will depend on how comfortable I feel with the topic. I really doubt I will use all 4200 questions.

Aimee, How many do you think are advanced + Intermediate Qs in Qbank at Level 2 ? I did only those questions at Level 1 somewhere around 800-900 Q. I felt that that was best strategy… No point in solving easy questions… Even most of the concept checkers are easy… These kinda questions don’t prepare you for the level of difficulty of the real test…
Yeah, I only do the concept checkers after I read to make sure I was paying attention. I usually get 80-100% on them but that really doesn’t mean much. Unfortunately I don’t know how many intermediate questions there are… I created a few practice tests just to see how many advanced questions there were, and it came out to exactly 600. I would guess at least half are the basic ones though, given that the hard Q’s make up less than 15% of the whole database.
Hey Guys, I had a look at the QBank questions this weekend, they do not look like what we should expect for the L2 exam, I guess. I was expecting vignettes like the actual exam, but I found questions closer th what we got for L1. I really do not know whether they are worth taking them… I think the practice exams should be much more inetresting… M.
I took Level II last year, and I can tell you for sure that they’re not nearly as hard as the real thing. But, that doesn’t make them useless… I use them right after reading the topic to make sure I have the concepts down. The practice exams are much more realistic but you have to build up to it… its a waste of a practice exam if you haven’t practiced the concepts much before then, because the questions are pretty tough. P.S. The advanced questions are in vignette for, like the exam.
thanks Aimee! good luck for L3 if you’re sittting for, in June! Malek.
Nope, unfortunately I’m with you guys again this year. But with any luck we will all be having these conversations on the L3 both next year!
Aimee, how representative do you think are the end of chapter questions of CFAI text? S
