Which provider has the best videos for CFA Level II ?

In terms of following the CFAI curriculum perfectlyand explaining the concepts very deeply with maximum number of hours of videos.

Pick your choice, but I will point out what Ive used…

  1. Elan guides have the distinct advantage of having Peter Olinto with them. I tell you he can make you score really well in FRA. I was his level 1 student at Stalla and loved his videos. Not for one moment did I have the feeling that this is just a video, but had the feeling of a class actually…

  2. Irfanullah - I used his video for Fixed Income and found them good. There are free videos of his available on youtube. So safe for you to make yourself comfortable with his style by watching. Personally I felt really comfortable, may be because we both are from same region… Good thing about his videos are that they are not really costly at all and you can pick and choose the ones you need access for and buy them :slight_smile:

But Ive never used Schweser or 7city…

Are Elan Guide videos as good for Level II as they are for level I ?

Also any idea how soon Elan Guide post their 2013 Level II videos ?

Hello Kd789… I unfortunately never used Elan… I was suggesting Elan because of my faith in Peter Olinto… Ive heard they delay their videos a bit actually, so best to check with their customer service mate. Sorry to be of no help there!

Theyre releasing a topic or 2 every month, so by december they will have them all. Right now i ordered the videos, but will use them after I finish all the reading as a refreshing method. So now they have realesed Corporate Finance and Qm

I used Schweser VDO for Level 1 and I found it was good but I wanna try Elan for Level 2. Now, I’m watching QM for a trial peroid :slight_smile:

I bought schweser videos for lvl2 and i believe It’s helpful. Though imho it’s way better not to use any… Reading CAREFULLY the study notes is enough.

schweser hlped me a lot. for level 2. but i also feel it depends on instructors. some are good and some are not so good. I gave level 2 in 2010 and at that time the guy who covered accounting stuff and the guy who did fixed income stuff were great teachers and really helped. but they also change teachers and differnt teachers do differnt topics every year sometimes. I hope they still have same teachers or atleast same quality of teaching from whoeever is their now. But my experience was good with the product i got at that time and i can say it helped me a lot definately.

i dont have experience of others so cant comment on them.

I too am a big fan of the Elan Level I videos. I think the instructor’s style is even better for the Level II videos as there so not too much handwriting and he really digs into everything. Theyve already posted QM and CF videos and a whole bunch will hopefully be released over the next two months.

For those of you who used Elan for Level I, were their Level I videos done by Peter Olinto as well? I thought those were really good.

It was Basit Shajani who did all those videos. It’s going to be him and Peter Olinto for LII. They’ve got videos from both in the free trial now.

Yeah they have uploaded all the quants videos for free. I just finished watching them. Basit has explained time series chapter so well. It doesn’t seem that daunting anymore!! :smiley:
