BEY and ICONV function

There seems to be a lot of questions oncenverting yields, do we have to know th formulas or can we just use our calculator? The iconv functions converts but I am not very good with using it yet. Does anyone know how to use the ICONV function to get the answer on schweser book5 pg 128 #7?? it is driving me crazy!

I would highly recommend taking a full day and reading the manual front to back for your calculator and learning all the functions in depth when your ready to move into review and practice test stage. I did it before LI and it was a huge godsend and timesaver, time’s tight, the calculator’s functions are your buddy. Also, rememeber to change the battery the week before or at least bring a spare and a screwdriver.

thanks, they also have a video on Schweser website for the BA II plus I was thinking of watching

nobody knows the answer to schweser book5 pg 128 #7 using the ICONV button???

Post the question, not all here have Schweser at all or with them.

Iconv can do only effective and nominal conversions. You still will have to use ur concepts. Unless somebody can point out if I have missed anything. S

Im sorry, here is the question: An analyst determines that the cash flow yield of GNMA pool 3856 is .382% per month. what is the bond equivalent yield? I thought that we might be able to use the ICONV function

I am not aware, you can calculate effective for 6 months and then double to get BEY. But would be keen to know if it could directly do without doubling. S
