Beyond CFA - Reading List

I’m a licensed CPA and a CFA level 3 candidate. I’m trying to create a reading list for CFAs/Investment Analysts: magazines/journals one should be reading to keep abreast of not just trends but some of the hard knowledge gained during the study of the CFA material. Most magazines I’ve been reading (Economist, Business Week, Barrons) oversimplify to appeal to a broader audience. What should we be reading to maintain and even polish on the concepts learned while pursuing the CFA? Thanks/Jay.

FAJ which should be part of your CFAI membership

unless you are absolutely confident of passing, I would suggest to just focus on the Level 3 books. Once you’re done in June, you have the rest of your life to read as many journals/magazines/publications as you want.

Agree with O.G. If you insist and have some free time, the following is a good start: “Futures, Options & Other Derivaties” by John Hull FIXED INCOME ANALYSIS Second Edition Frank J. Fabozzi:many of the chapters are level II reading. It has some additional stuff. OR Fixed Income Securities Handbook by Fabozzi Some of Prof Damodaran’s books for equity Valuation: Measuring and Managing the Value of Companies, McKinsey (not easy read) Creative cash flow reporting Mulford and Comiskey Behavioral Finance and Wealth Management MICHAEL M. POMPIAN Intermediate Accounting by Kieso for USGAAP IFRS primer by Wiecek, Young Otherwise, search this forum for previous postings about recommended finance books.
