Anyone keeping up with this show? Its pretty entertaining albeit not too deep in the financials. It does bring up some valid ethical issues about trading and on what means you are gaining a profit. I saw it on demand and am up to speed for tonight’s new episode. Paul Giamatti has always been a good actor; he finally takes somewhat of a lead role in this series, different from the many side roles he has had throughout the years.
Don’t intend to watch it, but whenever I hear Paul Giamatti’s name I think about Sideways. A brilliant, underrated performance.
haha sideways … good flick… I remember him insisting ‘no Merlot’ and running through the vineyard chugging wine after hearing his ex was getting married or something
kind of predictable, but entertaining anyway. they can’t do too much of a deep dive into finance…it would be way over poeple’s heads.
I’m pretty sure some of the finance related stuff they talk about is over people’s heads already.
Lmao.
Boring is not the same as “over people’s heads”.
^predictable from a storyline point of view.
over people’s heads in the sense that the target audience wouldn’t know the difference between a 3 and 30 fee structure and a 1 and 10 (example).
I think Paul G overacts a lot on this show - though I usually like this guy in small doses a lot. Also I think Major Winters/Brody/Axe is a shitty actor and overrated.
