Bizarre Mentality of Women on Online Dating Sites

I was looking through a couple of online dating sites and have two observations about women there: 1) I notice that many short women (5 ft in height) specifically state that they are seeking guys who are 6 ft tall. But wouldn’t such a tall man feel like he’s holding hands with his 10-yr old daughter when they walk out together? 2) The most bizarre and self-contradicting profile I’ve seen so far is… an Asian woman looking for “Caucasian men, but they CANNOT have an Asian fetish.” hmm… what makes her think the guys would want to date her if they don’t have Asian fetish? LOL This woman isn’t very attractive in any way and is only slightly above average. Feel free to chime in!

My favorite was a profile for a girl “seeking a guy whose intelligent and well educated.” (Ironical grammer mistake for those of you who are non-grammer nazi’s.

Ironical? Is there such a thing?

^Ummm it’s “grammar” - kind of ironic that too.

If any of you are looking for some funny/interesting reading, check this out. It’s a blog on okcupid. http://blog.okcupid.com/ Their stats geek takes okcupid profiles and performs statistical analysis.

Ironical does exist per merriam Webster. “Grammer” was my bad. Although, in my defense, I write most of these posts from my iPhone.

To be fair I can understand what they might be getting at. I have a friend who is only into F.O.B. Asian chicks and it can get really awkward.

  1. The most bizarre and self-contradicting profile I’ve seen so far is… an Asian woman looking for “Caucasian men, but they CANNOT have an Asian fetish.” I actually understand this one more than the 5 foot girl looking for 6 foot +. I think there are a lot of nerdy analyst forum type guys who are a bit obsessive with asian culture. I love sushi as much as the next man, but I can bet everyone here as meet that over the top white guy. She wants a white guy, who’s MO is not going after asian girls. That’s like a girl dating an older guy but she doesn’t want to be one of many younger women, she wants to be the exception. Makes her feel special.

A lot of women also get inundated with messages and compensate by trying to filter via their profile. It’s an annoying double standard for guys; we learned long ago to shut up because verbalizing preferences is usually counterproductive.
