"Blockchain": what is it?

I have seen this word too often, could someone explain it to me in words that a person that did not go 3/3 in 18 months could understand

A blockchain, originally block chain, is a continuously growing list of records, called blocks, which are linked and secured using cryptography.

It’s a list of transactions where each new transaction has the log of all prior transactions contained within it. A large group of computers do the math to vet transactions and make sure that log matches thereby creating a decentralized verification system

the link below will explain what blockchain is. it’s a super cool 3min video and you’ll be able to impress your friends and co workers with this succint explanation.

Think of it as a ledger that’s broadly shared, hence “decentralized”, in which transactions are quickly validated and permanently stored using cryptography. In the case of bitcoin, it would be the “reward” for whomever committed computer resources to validate said transactions.

It’s estimated that in 2018 0.5% of the world’s energy usage will go towards mining bitcoin.

As I’ve said before, any currency that is not physical cannot be trusted.

And like 50% of Reykjavic’s energy.

Truly, you can’t trust any currency so what we should back to exchange of goods? More over, why many companies offer buying with bitcoins https://bitcoinbestbuy.com/pay-online-stores/ ? The future is coming, be ready ; )

Another 10.00 % will go toward use of electric cars in the next decade. We will build nuclear plants even in a home-made variants over the roofs. Long: UXXc1.

Thanks Selina.
