When a company is going through a bond issuance, do they want to issue it at a premium? What are the main factors they are taking into consideration during this process. Sorry for the broad question just have been thinking about this.
Companies would love to issue at a premium but investors will not let that happen because the company could turn around and redeem the bonds at par value and the investors would take a loss.
