I find schweser brutal…but I’m working on schweser 2006 and 2007 (they are nearly identical)
Scores to date Book 6 1 AM - 77 1 PM - 82 2 AM 78 2 PM 77 3 AM 82 scores seem fairy decent but going to finish 3PM tomorrow and then hit the CFA exams.
update: 1 AM 69 1 PM 46 2 AM 46 2 PM 56
Exam 1: 75% Exam 2: 72% Exam 3: 77% Going to do 1 exam from book 7 and 1 cfa mock, then just review and thats it, screw it
I change my mind, screw book 7, im doing 2 mocks, yeah thats it
Dude remember that the 1st exam of book 7 is in fact the actual 2006 CFAI Level II exam.
Really, sheesh, alright screw what i said before, taking all 3 book 7 exams and mocks, forget sleeping.
I finally broke 70 1am 60 1pm 65 2am 67 2pm 73
Just started taking these. 1AM - 81.7% 2AM - 90% Sweet.
Exam 2 AM - 62% I wasn’t really concentrating that hard but WTF! PM - 80% Got 4/6 basically guessing on that ridiculous econ section. Hopefully my guessing prowess is as good on the real thing.

Just started these as well. 1AM: 83% 1pm: 70% (messed up the Swaps question) I find Schweser’s vignettes to be excruciatingly long compared to CFAI.
That 90% is ridiculous.
Not to be negative, but I don’t trust those scores above 80% unless you open books or repeat.

There was a fair bit of luck that second one - getting questions right for the wrong reasons. But so long as E(score) > 75% I’m happy.

It seems to reflect a view of “if I can’t do it nobody can”. This material is difficult but not rocket science. 80+% is a good score but very achievable on some of these practice exams. This forum is about inspiration, positive reinforcement and helping eachother out, not dismissing achievements of others due to one’s own lack of self-confidence. Keep studying hard, you may just surprise yourself with an 80%.

In Book 6 I scored over 80% on 4 out of 6 tests (and was one question away from 80% on another test). It’s my first go-round, and I didn’t take it open book.
I think cfano1’s comment was a fair and reasonable observation. In fact, I would add that some scores may be due to the fact that not all pratice tests taken by individuals are timed and completed in one sitting. Give me an extra hour and a snack break in between those two derivative item sets and I can increase my score on any exam another 10-15%.
I think its an ethics violation… Std VIII - don’t be a prick.

Come on people. Are we 8 year olds here? Posting our conspiracy theories of people on AF cheating themselves (i.e. open book, etc.) and posting their scores? We’re better than this. We have to trust that people are being honest and if you don’t believe that they are, then take the scores with a grain of salt, keep it to yourself, and keep plugging away at your studies. If you’re retention of the material is such that you can’t even fathom an 80% score under exam conditions, then you should be studying every minute of the day, not spending your time pondering how others must be cheating.
