Has anyone attended the Boston CFA Society’s Level II Bootcamp? Was thinking about signing up for it, but would like to get some feedback/thoughts first.
Bump. I’m on the same boat. Any comments would be appreciated.
Changing subjects slightly, but staying with BSAS, have either of you guys looked at their $99 question bank?
yeah well worth it if you need more probs. Are you from Boston or just creeping their website?
the latter. I took their Level I mock and thought it was tough and rigorous.
true story
As an alternative to Schweser, I’m looking for something a bit closer in nature to the actual exam. I have the Schweser Practice Exams (Vol 1), which I’ll also use.
Any other feedback of BSAS boot camp? Contemplating that or John Harris two day in NYC. Thanks, John
I took the boot camp for Level 1 last year for the December exam. Pros: helpful handout packages, some of the instructors have been teaching for many years and will point out popular topics and questions often tested on the exam (I personally found this very beneficial) Cons: if i remember correctly, it was like an 8 hour session for two consecutive days and it can really burn you out so go with a fresh mind. The whole boot camp is a hit or miss depending on which instructors you get (Does it tell you the name of instructors? I can see if I recognize some of them from last time). Some profs grossly oversimplify things when in actuality a lot of exceptions and details are tested as well. Overall, I would say it’s only worth your money if you already put in a decent amount of time studying and you have a select number of topics/questions that you want reviewed/explained by a professional .
jgrandits I did the John Harris financial accounting in LA last week. I highly recommend it if your having trouble with FRA. The only issue is that he only explains FRA while with the BSAS, according to their website, you get 4-5 different topics. If you have the time and money for it, why not do both.
