BS’s point here seems valid. Over one billion followers of Islam are spread across the Earth, why are none of these people speaking out against the terrorists? Here in the US, we have yet to see/hear any prominent peaceful Muslims publicly renonuce terrorist attacks performed by Islamic radicals.

The difference is significant. In private, Muslims will say these things, but in public, while prominant Muslims are quick to say they aren’t terrorists, they always stop short of condemning Islamic leadership in the region or even the principle behind the Charlie Hebdo attack.

In the western world, Christians do view the Spanish Inquisition and such as Christian events. We also took responsibility and overthrew that oppressive leadership from any real roll of true government power shortly after. In the Middle East they’re still living in that regime and the difference is palpable. Clean out your own house.

Worth keeping in mind that the vast majority of people who are murdered by Islamic terrorists are Muslims. Over 400k killed in Syria over the past 5 years. That’s about 100x the number who died in 9/11 and all terror attacks in the US and Europe since.

Also for balance. The three most murderous regimes in history were Germany under Hitler, Russia under Stalin and China under Mao. Also remember the Khmer Rouge and Rwanda. No Muslims involved in any of that. All humans are capable of tremendous evil. People of all religions and none.

You have a really distorted view of average America. Where does that come from? Do you watch a lot of TV? Fairly certain the minority population of the Sudan would disagree. For most of the World, it would be a step up to be part of our “marginalized minority population.” And I know this first hand having lived, worked, and traveled in quite a few third world nations.

You do know our schools and entertainment centers are open to all? Even in the whitest malls allow everyone. And black only communities are becoming harder and harder to find. All races can run for office. Louisiana had an Indian governor and our President is currently a Black man for example. My neighbor is a black F-15 pilot with a white wife. The subject has never even been mentioned by anyone. It’s just not a thing. But I did notice all the diversity among Canadian politicians on the international scene through the years. Very progressive. Just a really strange comment from an educated Canadian.

I should clarify. I think blacks in the U.S. are similar to the Muslim situation in Europe in terms of marginalisation, there are just many, many, many times more blacks. Both groups are significantly economically worse off then average. But the black folks don’t bomb subways over it (though violence is higher in that group, it’s not really directed at government… generally it’s angry white men doing the bigger stuff in the U.S.). All those rights you mentioned and more are available to Muslims in Europe, yet you wouldn’t claim that Muslims in Belgium aren’t on the margins of society. I’m trying to point to the fact that this isn’t about a marginalized people but a religious crazed group of extremists.

I would throw this out. When muslims are in minotrity they seek sympathy and kindness but when they are in majority they want to accept their religion or they will blow you up or chop your head off. It’s a number game.

And yes I agree, no other immigrants have the same mindset as of muslim immigrants. They live in their fucking herd and don’t mingle with other people. This is the reason they are not liked in western countries.

Anyway, yes definitely religion, or at least culture, is a component of the problem. Mexican immigrants don’t bomb all these white Texas people, since the Mexicans don’t seem to have cultural or religious attributes that encourage that sort of behavior.

However, there is no reason that religion has to be the only reason for terrorism. Socioeconomic division, marginalization, and other political differences, are also part of the problem.

These things exist everywhere, as does religion, this degree and brand of violence is unique to Muslims.

You can point out the odd disturbed Christian outburst, but for every 1 of those, I can find you 200 Muslim events despite Muslims being the smaller of the two religions globally. Not only that, but you don’t get a church stepping up everytime and claiming affiliation. Rather the opposite and THAT is the problem.

A radicalized Christian would be still 1000 times better than a radicalized muslim.

“I have seen so many comments from liberals in denial regarding the ISIS terrorist attack in California, so this post is going to be my very best attempt at untangling this yarn ball of lies and bullsh*t as best I can.

First, the majority of them have immediately brought up Robert Dear, the guy who shot three people in Planned Parenthood, to make a point that Christian terrorists are just as bad and Muslim terrorists are unfairly scrutinized. When’s the last time you heard of a terrorist attack targeting abortion clinics? I looked it up. Since 1990, there have been 7 fatal attacks on abortion clinics or abortion doctors, resulting in 11 fatalities. ELEVEN. Just to clarify, that’s less in 25 years than Syed Farook and Tashfeed Malik killed in the span of 5 minutes.

Second, bringing up other white, male mass shooters in the United States to somehow prove this is just as big a problem as Islamic terrorism and ISIS. Why white males? Why not mention the Navy Yard shooter or the Virginia Tech shooter? As far as I’m aware, there is no all encompassing ideology driving white males to go on rampage killings. There’s no single motive or common denominator, unlike Islamic terrorism, where there is ALWAYS a single motive and common denominator: Islam. I looked up the 30 worst mass shootings in US history. 10 of them were carried out by non white males. And those 30 rampage shootings resulted in a total of 382 deaths. That’s less than 1/4 of fatalities caused by Islamic terrorist attacks in November 2015 ALONE.

Thirdly, many are saying there have been 355 mass shootings in America this year, with only 2% by Muslims being responsible. Except this statistic from “Mass Shooting Tracker” has been proven FALSE. 42% of these so called “shootings” resulted in zero deaths and 29% resulted in 1 death. That’s 71% of these supposed “mass shootings” that involved 1 death or less. So if you’re parroting this statistic, you’re essentially lumping a random shooting where one person was injured in the leg with a pre-planned, ISIS terror attack on US soil. Congratulations. Fourthly, bringing up PAST “Christian atrocities” to somehow condone or justify the Islamic terror threat we face TODAY. I tallied up the body count. ISIS alone has killed over 6,000 innocent people just this year. Adding up the predictable “Christian atrocities” I’ve heard (even if they were NOT motivated by Christianity at all): Timothy McVeigh, the KKK, the IRA, and the Spanish Inquisition combined doesn’t even come close to the ISIS body count just this year. And that’s just ISIS. That doesn’t include Boko Haram, Abu Sayyef, Al Qaeda, Al Nusra, Al Shabaab, the Taliban, Hamas, Hezbollah, and the other Islamic terrorist organizations that make up the overwhelming majority of named Islamic terror groups worldwide.

Fifthly, of 335 official terrorist attacks listed in 2015 worldwide, 310 of them were carried out by either an Islamic terrorist group or a lone wolf Muslim. That’s over 92%. Case closed.

Seriously liberals, I will play this “Christians vs. Muslims” numbers game all day long. You want to point out Hitler as Christian, even though he personally hated Christianity and his motives were far from religious? I’ll still give you that and raise you one Islamic massacre of 70 million Hindus on the Indian subcontinent. You want to bring up the Crusades, a defensive war by Europe that was meant to stop Islamic military expansion? I’ll still give you that and raise you one Armenian genocide by the Ottoman Turks. Anyhow, the point isn’t that others can’t be violent in periods of inbalance, but only that Muslim culture tends exist in an equilibrium steady state of barbaric violence propogated by its own dogma.

This hasn’t been acknowledged by the western world but it is a fact. I’ve grown up in India and listened this by many people that how muslims tried to destroy temples and converted them into mosque. That was just fucking ridiculous. As I said when they are in power they want you to follow islam. They don’t mingle with main society in India and forcefully created regions with muslim crowd. I don’t hate every muslim but it is a fact ‘History repeats itself’ ME is paying price for sins which it has been doing by invading other countries and killing innocent people. And please don’t talk about those innocent people; they are not innocent if you see the crime and walk over you are as responsible as the person who commits the crime. Fight for your country and Chage the situation instead of coming to Canada.

Hmmm it would be except people of those same faiths rose up to put a stop to things and return the world to a state of peace. The middle east has existed in perpetual violence since the inception of Islam as a steady state for centuries. This is the point you routlinely ignore. It’s not just a few isolated acts, it’s a neverending saga with that religion and they treat their own no better.

I know you are an expert in the region because you visited Egypt.

All the Muslim countries condemned this event and the dogma behind it. Here in the UAE, the high rise landmarks (including the tallest building on earth) were lit by the Belgian flag in solidarity with Europe. All the media outlets are talking about this horrible event. The Muslim countries were in the hunt of ISIS sympathizers (not only ISIS members) for years.

It’s up to you if you don’t want to be educated on these subjects, but to voice a hateful opinion based on ignorance is pathetic.

On the Spanish Inquisition, if they were Catholic then they came from God. If the Inquisition was wrong then Catholicism is wrong. Or how does it work? People agree on when God is wrong and when he’s right? … My view is more tolerant than yours, the Inquisition wasn’t Catholic.

And when did you “overthrew that oppressive leadership from any real roll of true government power shortly after”? Was it in your altered universe? The Spanish Inquisition was condemned by Jews and Muslims only. The Western world started to condemn the Inquisition just after enough Jewish voices got loud enough. Your expertise in the ME was from a visit to the Pyramids, your expertise on the Spanish Inquisition is from where? Eating at Chipotle?
