OMG. Have you never read the Bible and what it says about the region? On the Contrary, the ME had centuries of peaceful societies disrupted by few decades of wars.
Have you never read the History of Europe, or Asia, or Central America, or Africa? Have you never read?
I saw the high rise you are referencing while watching the news last night (which is nice, but also very easy), but I did not see a single ME leader (no King, Prince, President, no one) come out publicly and say that they and their country reject these violent acts. Without the leadership on the ground, change will not happen. Moreover, why do the true Muslims not unite and take out the extremists?? Since they’ve killed many more of their own than Westerners, shouldn’t they have already formed a joint military effort to rid the world of these killers?
What are you talking about? Lots of ME leaders speak out against these attacks on a regular basis. :
Erdogan - “I strongly condemn the heinous terrorist attacks that took place in Brussels today. The People of Turkey, who suffered from equally heinous attacks at the hands of terrorists, share the pain of the Belgian People.”
Davutoglu - “I curse the attack in Brussels, which has once again shown the global face of terror. I offer my condolences to the government and the people of Belgium and I want to express solidarity on behalf of our people.” He added “I invite all of humanity to stand united against global terror and any sort of terrorism.”
Malaysia - "I am shocked and appalled by the attacks in Brussels, which follow the recent attacks in Turkey. These cowardly attacks are a reminder of the need for countries to unite and counter threats posed by extremism. The thoughts and prayers of all Malaysians are with the victims and their families,”
UAE - Dr. Gargash emphasised the UAE’s solidarity with the Belgian government and people out of its firm position of rejecting all forms and manifestations of terrorism regardless of motivation and justification, wherever, whenever and by whomsoever they are committed. - https://www.mofa.gov.ae/EN/MediaCenter/News/Pages/22316-UAE.aspx#sthash.dJLiBanz.dpuf
The point is, the Spanish inquisition ultimately was abolished at the hands of Catholics, the Middle East has been going down this road for a thousand years and only going further in reverse from any sense of civility. The worst part is, the difference between KSA (one of the largest powers in the region) and the ISIS they fund is only in the number of sharia based beheadings (KSA in the lead by a long shot) and oil production (again, advantage KSA). KSA could shut this down in a minute, but instead they’ll sit there and claim to be appauled while making wire transfers. Sorry, but the Prophet is for the dogs.
So if KSA makes transfers to ISIS, and the US makes transfers to KSA…how is the US any different? And don’t say the ME has always been violent, I’m talking about what’s keeping it violent.
History of ME vs Europe. Not even a contest in terms of periods of peace and civility. Hell, even most middle easterners will admit as much but I’m dealing with a brainwashed individual here. And if we stick to the most centuries, the difference is even more pronounced. You know, after we stood up to our religion and separated it from our dictators. But hey, people have the governments they deserve bow to your royal over lords for me.
and this ladies and gentlemen, is an example of a perfect recruit for ISIS: stupid, full of hatred, bigot, racist, illiterate, ignorant, and confused (Back Swan’s di@k with the Hulk’s brain). Hulk smash.
I’m all for us backing out and leaving them to their own shit show. I think it’s an aweful policy. That being said, the US allocates a total of $10,000 in funding to the KSA every year.
Sure, but military equipment is easier to track and isn’t the same as funding which could in turn go to ISIS. All that being said, I’d love for it to stop. I’m sure when it does the ME will just magically become a peaceful wonderland.
