http://www.bsas.org/BSAS_CFA_Exam_Preparation/CFA04.asp Anyone done this? It’s based on their last 3 years’ mock exams. I’m considering it as a substitute for Schweser practice exams. Comments appreciated.
I purchased it and I am a big fan. I am also writing their mock 2011 on May 7 at the local CFA society. Go for it.
Please elaborate, particularly about the quality of the exams themselves, and the interface. If you’ve got Schweser, how does BSAS compare with their practice exams?
I’d be interested to learn more about these as well.
Are you saying the BSAS sells themself out to other local CFA societies that don’t create mocks? That’s BS but I guess if it gets them more money why not… Iginla2010 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I purchased it and I am a big fan. BSAS circulates a widely known and respected mock exam to various locations around the country. Reportedly, more than 30 CFAs are involved with the creation of those exams. The BSAS question bank is based on prior mocks.

I didn’t have enough time to properly take their mock last yr (our CFA society lets you take the exam home if you don’t want to sit there for the whole day, and that’s what I did) because I ran out of time but whatever questions I attempted, I saw very similar questions on the CFA exam. Keep in mind, the online test bank is not like the QBank, it is simply a set of 120 questions (60 * 2) each. Also remember that in 2008 they still had 4 choices and changed to 3 choices in 2009. So their 2008 exam has 4 choices, to some it may be annoying. I also took their Level 1 mock and thought that, by far, it was the best representation of the actual exam. I won’t even compare it to Schweser’s exams. They’re just not in the same league. Although, some questions in BSAS mock may be more difficult than the actual exam. This year I only plan on doing CFAI and BSAS mocks, besides the EOCs of course. This is just my opinion. Do not blame me if you purchased the test bank and didn’t like it.
