BSAS

I wrote the BSAS mock on the weekend. Has anyone else tried it? It seemed pretty straight forward, although some of the questions, particularly in derivatives seemed a little off. They were not really anything like the CFAI end of chapter questions. Did anyone else feel the same? Was it the same for level one? Other than that, the exam was OK. I did fine on the sections I have studied most, and ended in the mid 60’s.

I am taking it on Saturday.

Are the questions similar (or the same) to the CFAI Mock exam? Still debating whether to buy.

+1. More feedback on BSAS practice exams please. I sent queries to BSAS but I have gotten no response yet.

The format was kind of strange. For some sections there would be a vignette that would cover the first 4 questions, and then the last two would be based on another smaller vignette. Ie. the econ section had like a few questions based on a chart, and then the last question was just about the rule of 70 for growth, and was unrelated to anything prior. They just gave you new info. The difficultly was varied. Some questions were very basic, and others seemed harder than CFAI. All in all, it was good practise though, and it only cost $35. I am using it as a study tool, and going over the entire thing again and fixing what I did wrong.

its 150$ in Boston.

$35 is a good price. My local CFA chapter only support Stalla, so we get no discount from BSAS. If I want to buy the BSAS practice exams, it’s $149 regular.

As far as I can tell the Tampa society doesn’t really help us out with any of these, but since I was planning on purchasing the CFA tests maybe I can use that to buy the BSAS instead if I have time…
