Just finished Schweser books last night. Also read last edition of CAIA book (except for risk section and ethics). I’m a CFA L2 candidate (having failed band 9 in June). Do I have enough time to study for this thing and pass it if I’m taking it in 4 days? Done 300 UpperMark questions thus far and scoring low 60s out of the gate. Any advice/thoughts?
In somewhat of a similar situation. Passed CFA Level II in June and am taking CAIA Level I friday. Also studying with UM test bank. I’ve found Uppermark is pretty helpful (excluding ethics which are terrible on there - but if you’ve been studying cfa, you should be fine on ethics). Personally, I think UM is good practice - keep drilling those. And a bit of encouraging news… I’ve been hitting around 70 on UM and took the sample exam on caia website and scored 90%. I thought it was super easy. Not sure if that’s a real indication of the actual exam difficulty, but it still felt good.
And given the overlap with CFA, I would focus more on the questions with calculations that are unique to CAIA. Given your cfa studies, you should be able to do reasonably well on conceptual questions. And focus on Hedge fund section.
thank you. appreciate the feedback and advice!
From my experience questions from UpperMark are more challenging than the Qs you will get on the exam.
With score in low 60s you are getting there, I’d say it’s equivalent to 70+ for real test. Just do few more practice tests in the remaining days - focusing on the areas where you get lower scores - and you will be fine.
thank you!
