CAIA

What is your opinion on the CAIA designation. It seems relatively easy, but is it worth it?I just took the CFA level 1 exam last Saturday as well.

no.

Do it for the knowledge, the process alone is worth the designation. Don’t expect the designation to magically land you a top job. I find it rewarding. I recently had a meeting w/ a co-manager of an enhanced commodity index product and find it very satisfying that I knew what he was talking about!

I completed both the levels and got accepted at a very renowned M-school in England, quite a number of times (6) it’s been casted in blockbuster films too. I am at my 2nd semester of Masters in Witchcraft & Wizardry @ Hogwarts School of Magic Management. Regards, swaptiongamma, Chartered Astrology In Anachronism

on a serious note, anyone know when the CAIA forum would be available? i’m on CFA L2 and thinking about taking CAIA L2 and i’m afraid there might be significant overlap, espoecially now that CFA has included a PE and VC section.

PacMan - Your id defines a M&A hostile technique where the smaller fish gulps down the bigger one (w/o even burping [or bubbling in case of aquatic] a little too much). I think that’s what is going to happen in the CAIA casoo! Ok simple and Lucid - Right now CAIA is simple and easy and noone cares about it - BUT in years to come it will become an industry standard too, and passing this exam would be marginally more difficult then, then passing it today. So kittie-up your designation shopping bag, whilst it’s on a blowout sale. I will be doing my CAIA-L1 in Sept-09

Gosh I still love this, http://www.beearly.com/pdfFiles/Sellers24102004.pdf

well worth it for knowledge. do CFA and CAIA - life is too short to be picky. go for the gold
