my wife almost cried when i told her i passed. my 15 month old daughter gave me a big hug. maybe i’m letting the cfa consume me, don’t know. then i spoke to my mother and she nearly cried. i either have a very emotional family or i’ve been letting the pressure show too much in the last few months waiting for results. hopefully i can do better than that for L3, geez.
My girlfriend of 2 years has been really supportive (even though I just failed L2). I think she thinks that I’ll propose after I attain my charter. So as you can imagine, she jokingly accused me of failing on purpose so that I can buy myself another year of “freedom.” In Dec 07’ for level one she organized a huge party at my place with all my friends that afternoon and we ended up painting the Queen City (Charlotte) all night. It was awesome. This time around I got a hug, a Yuengling, and just grilled some brats outside with a nice Padron 64 Series. No fan fair or anything. I like how she’s introduced this whole pass and get a king’s welcome, fail and get a beer and cook dinner mentality. I’m not a massochist (sp?) or anything but knowing the outcomes of passing or failing surely is motivation for the future. She’s been extremely supportive and I find it cute when she tries to strike up conversations about it. Maybe they should create a forum called “AnalystSignificantOtherForum” as a self help/group therapy for all of our wives, girlfriends, boyfriends, husbands, partners, etc. who have to deal with us during our studies. Doesn’t the military have these things for military wives and girlfriends? haha
That’s a good idea. When I was in grad school we had a signifigant other day, when our wives, GFs, BFs, etc came for a day and went through our classes (without us). It was actually quite beneficial. Got them to really understand what we were going through.
