Calculating 4th Roots, 5th Roots..please help

Please let me know how to use the IT BassII for calculating cube root, 4th Roots, 5th Roots etc. Thanks.

for cube root ^1/3 forth root ^1/4 etc… quick way to find 1/3 3 1\x

Hmmm… I don’t see it in the math operations section of the manual… You could always just do X^(1/3) or X^(1/4) for cube and 5th roots respectively…

*that’s 4th root

little more easy way… eg: finding out 5th root of 32 32^5 1\X = 2

thanks a lot, my CFA buddies…

I do not have the ^ key on my IT BAII Plus. I guess it will be on the BAII PRO…Any other suggestions to do roots on BAII PLUS?

It is the yx button right above the 9 button. For 1/3 use .333, for 1/4 use .25, for 1/5 use .2, etc.

ya i guess so…thats what i was doing…

For the benefit of all: Q: How do I find roots other than square roots using the BAII Plus? In finance it seems that we are forever calculating various roots (cube root, fourth root, 365th root, etc). So, to calculate the 5th root of 100, we simply raise 100 to the 1/5th power. To do this: 100 yx 5 1/x =. In this example, the 5th root of 100 equals 2.51189. Using this technique you can calculate any root.
