My user name pretty much says the state I am in . I have really started freaking out ever since i read the thread on number of hours everybody seems to be putting in. I ma just looking for some tips to help me through- On topics that I need to emphasize on or start early on. I dont have any game plan except that I need to slog my a** off for the next three weeks. Any inputs will be appreciated. I am using only the CFAI prep material - I know its a mammoth attempt to get through it, but have decided against adopting other material this late because of the additional investment that i would need to make. Cheers, Hopeful candidate
I am lost for words! You will get mostly sarcastic and angry comments for this.
Btw what have you covered so far if at all ?
Just for second I thought this was the level 1 forum.

Over 70 on ethics that is, I dono about the rest. Sorry confused2010, I am not the funniest guy, but I tried…
unless you plan to use additional material (schweser etc), the chances truly look grim. Just to give you an idea, i must have put in around 30 hours just to read ethics from CFAI. That’s close to 250 pages of material i remember from last year. What if the material was new & needed much more attention than Ethics? Look at the positive side. You will have some experience in facing the heat which will definitely help you next year. Take care!
I’ve pretty much covered all the corp Finance and FRA topics.
Your good to go. Just study as hard as you can, all day, every day for the next 19 days. Also, don’t waste your time checking this site, your time is better spent solving problems.
read Schweser for ethics, equity, and fixed inc, solve their EOC questions, then concentrate on CFAI EOC questions and take 3-5 exams before gameday. if you can pass eqy, fra, and ethics you’ll have a shot.
If you seriously want to pass this exam you need to be putting in 10 hours a day, no joke. You need to eat, breathe, and sleep CFA L2 material for the next 19 days otherwise you’re just wasting your own time. If you think you can only study ~100 hours or so over the next 19 days then I would not even bother attempting L2.
plz do come exam day to help the curve
Provided you have all 19 days to yourself - 12 hours each day for study, 19*12 = 228, first 150 hours (12 days, read schweser and do cfai eoc questions), next 7 days schweser practice exams , sample exams and mocks. Good luck.

I’d like to see someone sit down and actually study for 12 hours - I’d wager that it’s not possible to do this for more than one day straight.
I agree. If you are able to put in about 10-12 hours a day you have a shot. Go with Schweser, which will cut your reading time and unnecessary material in half. I estimate I will have put in about 250 hours come test day. Since I have been steadily doing this since late Feb, I assume that you can retain the same amount of material in about 175-200 hours. If you don’t have a job you are good to go.
yes!!! we can
I dont know if its possible, but if you do take it please let us know how it goes! I would be very impressed, but i wouldnt rule it out give it a shot.

I actually was able to do this… last year. I started at 9am and ended at around 12mn. For one week prior to the exam. And I still flunked. Makes me feel like the dumbest person.
Unless you are already familiar with every new topic on this exam (which would be strange if you have never taken it before) you have almost no chance of passing. If you were one of these insanely smart people with a fantastic memory then go ahead and prove us all wrong. But don’t expect to make many friends here. For level 2, I started six months before the exam. I studied 3 hours a day for the 100 days leading up to the exam. At about t-minus thirty I upped that to to about 5 hours a day. The last two weeks I studied pretty much all the time. I still think I barely passed.
