Can I pass level II studying 3 months?

I just passed december 2013 level I at first attempt. I would be extremely grateful if anyone could give me some suggestions in the following areas:

  1. I am currently employed full time at a high preassure job. I have several intesnse projects in February, and can’t even touch the books until March. If I study full-time, caveman style (I’m quitting my job after february), for 3 months (march-april-may) do I have a chance of passing level II? I did my undergrad in finance, and have a moderate basic for key finance topics.

  2. I am very comfortable with Kaplan-Schweser. In level 1, I did not even touch the CFAI books. Is it enough to read the Schweser notes for level II?

Don’t quit your job to study…never quit your job to study

What? you must have a real good reason for quitting your job. Not only to study to CFA.

i was thinking about it…

Yes, its quite doable if you are studying full-time at home for 3 months. But really don’t quit your job for it man. Makes no sense!

As far as your second query is concerned, i’m afraid you won’t like my answer. You would HAVE TO touch CFAI books at Level 2, irrespective of which third-party prep provider you choose to go with.

Can you expand on that? I’m using Elan notes and videos, and then doing CFAI EOC questions. Is that what you mean by touching the CFAI books, or that it is also necessary to read from them?

Yes, precisely! CFAI EOC questions and blue box examples are a must. I also like to study ethics only from curriculum.

I’m about to finish up Corporate Finance this week so I will have finished 5 subjects with 5 to go. Which half do you think is harder? I hope the first half…

NEVER quit your job for CFA. Bad idea .no matter where you are and what the job market in your country is like.Job>CFA anyday.

you can pass with 3 months fully time study. I even know some one who did it when he was a full time student.

it is recommended that you do the CFAI EOC and more importantly mock exams.Schweser, Elan, doesn’t matter what you use.

Don’t quit your job for the CFA, the only exception is if you have saved up tons of cash and if you were thinking of quitting, CFA or not. Don’t hinge a career change on the CFA, it won’t be a magic bullet.

One can pass any exams with 3 month full study…

Just do the Maths, if you need 200 hours to pass the exams, then it is only 5 weeks of 40 hours…so plenty of time

In case you missed all the prior posts: DON’T QUIT YOUR JOB.

I’ve passed the Level I on Dec/2013. I decided not doing the next level on jun/2014. I’ll postpone it to the next oportunity, in order to study more. I couldn’t stand working 8 hours per day and studying all the topics in a way I would be able to pass, with only 4 months to the test.
