I have decided to give a shot at cfa level 1 in dec 2014 , but the material of kaplan and elen are very very expensive and i’m not in a good financial position to pay for it . But I was able to find a few vedios on piratebay and youtube from 2011 and 2010 . was wondering if i can use then and study/ prepare ?
Schwezer notes seem to be completly useless for me as they only focus on the LOS and no further explanation or anything is giving to understand the concept and i’m not the person who can mug things up .
I don’t know your exact situation so I may be suggesting something unreasonable, but if you wait until after June 7, you will see Schweser and Elan books available at steep discounts from June L1 candidates looking to unload them (I did this after I took Level 1). You will probably see even more hit eBay and Amazon after results are released in late-July as those who are less confident after the test will hang onto them in case they need to retake in December.
As far as your original question, I think it would be a bad idea to use 2010 videos for this year’s test because the curriculum goes through changes every year (there was a major change in Econ something like two years ago?). You might consider still using them and looking into what’s changed from year to year, but that seems like a lot of work.
There’s always the option to just use the CFAI curriculum that you get when you register. Plenty of people do that and pass without a problem.
Thanks for your reply . I’ll wait till june and see at how low yje materials are selling for . As you mentioned I am thinking of using the cfai material .
But until then if you know any material or vedios online which are good , it would be very useful to me if you can share tem .
Thank you ,

P:S : i’ve manged to get my hands on 2013 videos of kaplan . can we use that as a reference or is there any changes in that too ?
